About Cam's Kanji Cards
What are they?
Cam's Kanji Cards are a collection of practice cards with information on various Japanese 'kanji'.
Why am I making these cards?
These cards were originally to be used as a practice aid for myself and my girlfriend. I have been unsatisfied with the cards available online, as they are either online-only or need to be bought and delivered. I wanted to create a set of cards that was free for everyone to use, but specifically available in a professional looking PDF format that can be easily printed for personal use.
Where did I get the data for these cards?
I have two sources for the data used in these cards. First, I use Jack Halpern's 'New Japanese-English Character' Dictionary to get a general overview of the different uses and meanings of each kanji. I then browse through Jim Breen's EDICT to find useful definitions that fit with the various different meanings of the kanji. I use Tim Eyre's font for the stroke orders on each card. I try to find both useful and diverse definitions to give the most practical and meaningful compounds in the space I have to work with.
